When the sheet is folded and has paginated folios of 1/32 (i.e., about 15 x 10 cm), glued or sewn together for grouping, it is considered a chapbook; its sheets are usually printed on both sides. Although the 1/32 chapbooks were the most abundant in the Vanegas Arroyo printing press, we also found prints of 1/16 and 1/64, as well as booklets and books with over 17 paginated sheets. The songbooks published in the twenties and thirties by the printers Eduardo Guerrero and Antonio Reyes were also generally crafted in the chapbook format of 1/32.
First Distinction of the Texts
In the Vanegas Arroyo press corpus, the chapbooks present thematic and discursive unity (either only in prose or only in verse), and many of these chapbooks are part of a collection that connects them thematically. [1] The song and religious chapbooks of various devotions were extremely successful. They were still being published assiduously during the first half of the 20th century, coexisting with other mass communication media, as can be seen in those produced by the presses of Eduardo Guerrero and Antonio Reyes.

Prose Chapbooks. There are those aimed at instructing the reader on the norms and uses of diverse social practices, providing, for instance, invitation models, love letters, discourses for diverse occasions, cooking recipes, medical advice, aviculture, embroidery and knitting instructions, magic tricks, rules for card games, interpretation of dreams, among others. Others are merely for entertainment, such as the collections of tales and plays. There is also a remarkable amount of religious material which includes syllabaries, visits, devotionals, colloquiums, loas, pastorelas, and others.[2]
Verse Chapbooks. As already mentioned, the format of the chapbook is optimal for brief lyrical pieces grouped in a collection, but also for longer compositions. It is important to distinguish, among other themes, riddles, songs, hymns, verses for clowns, profane plays and religious works.
The collection provides a search tool based on the literary categorisation of the texts of the prints, be it broadsheets, pliegos de cordel, chapbooks, booklets, or books, which allows to explore the material by the thematic entries of the exposed classification.

The catalog presented above results from a database query for all items labeled as chapbook for the Is type of print property, but requires that only the following labels appear for these records: Is print incipit, Is year and Is number of pages.
The INDEX column features links to the bibliographical data of each print, which include other data of interest for each chapbook. It is possible to make more detailed searches to refine the results and find the prints that are most relevant to the user. To this end, the semantic search tool is more useful than the table with the labels arranged like an inventory, but searches must be carried out according to the norms described by Semantic MediaWiki.
